Solar Sandbox

Hi my name is Tom and if you're looking at this page then you'd like to know more about the game, so here goes.

Controls:

Left click to spawn a world creating arrow orb. Then move you mouse to set the desired angle of travel.

Left click again to spawn the world which will move around the game.

Press R to restart the game, Press Q to end the game

-Note that all controls are listed in game as well.

The Goal

My goal with this project was to make a simple Solar System sandbox. 

The Engine I used to make  this game was Game Maker Studio 2

Development time

I spent around 5 hours or so developing the idea for the game. Just shy of 3 hours on constructing it.

Twists and turns the story of disobedient circles.

This game was started from a simple idea, you make circles that move around like planets. I spent so much time trying to research the game for Love2D (No hate by the way) and due to my unfamiliarity I decided to try GMS2 (I have used before). I then tried desperately (my first Game Jam Game if you haven't noticed) to actually get them to spin right. Tried my own code then looked up a ton of different codes online and tweaked things where I could. I worked on this until literally the last possible hour . I was finished with the physics simulation only a half hour to go on full development time. I rushed to implement the varying size planets, with a random color to make them less boring. I also made a planet making aim circle. I think all in all I learned what seems like a thousand things and had a real blast making this.
